From factory-made niches to completely custom recessed storage, the right choice depends on the space, tile, layout and — most importantly — the finished look you’re after.

Prefabricated niches
A prefabricated shower niche is a practical, efficient solution when the dimensions and design of the bathroom lend themselves to a standard-sized unit. Prefabricated niches are available in both tileable and finished configurations. Tileable models receive tile or stone so the niche can blend into the surrounding installation. Finished models provide a completed interior surface without requiring the niche itself to be tiled. Factory-built niches are waterproof, dimensionally consistent and designed to integrate into the shower assembly. With careful planning, even a prefab niche can be positioned around the tile layout so grout lines, cuts and surrounding patterns remain clean and intentional.

Custom-built niches
When standard dimensions aren’t enough, we build the storage around the bathroom — not the other way around. A custom niche allows control over size, shape, location, shelving, tile layout and finished detailing. This becomes particularly important with large-format tile, stone, porcelain slabs or highly veined materials. A niche isn’t simply a hole cut into a wall. It becomes part of the composition. Custom niches can incorporate multiple shelves, contrasting materials, accent tile, stone shelving and other architectural details.

Radial corner shelves
Not every shower has the wall space — or the need — for a recessed niche. Radial corner shelves turn an otherwise unused corner into functional storage while maintaining a clean, open appearance. The curved profile avoids the hard projection of conventional rectangular shelving while providing convenient storage for everyday shower items. Stock options are available in a variety of marble, glass and engineered-stone finishes. Can’t find the right material or dimension? Custom fabrication is always an option.

The right storage for the right bathroom
There isn’t one storage solution that belongs in every bathroom. A prefabricated niche may be the smartest choice for one project. A custom niche may be necessary for another. In a compact shower — or one with a demanding tile layout — radial shelving may provide the best balance of function and appearance. That’s why storage is considered during design and layout rather than after the tile is already installed. The goal isn’t simply to give you somewhere to put your shampoo .
