FEATURED PROJECT
A Bathroom Built from the Substrate Out
This renovation required far more than setting tile.
From shower reconstruction and waterproofing to large-format porcelain layout, vein continuity, floor installation, lighting and coordination with plumbing, the project was planned as a complete system.
Jason personally managed the installation from substrate preparation through final detailing, making field decisions as conditions changed and keeping the finished design at the center of the process.
THE PROCESS

BEFORE
The original bathroom was documented and evaluated before demolition began.

PLANNING
Layout, fixtures, materials, tile orientation, transitions and details were coordinated before installation.

MUDWORK
Custom shower mud pan with appropriate pitching was installed to accommodate the shower’s dimensions.

SUBSTRATE
Walls, floors and shower components were rebuilt and prepared to support the finished materials.

CUSTOM STORAGE
The new niche allowed optimized storage within the wet area. Built into the design, not as an afterthought.

WATERPROOFING
Critical wet-area assemblies were waterproofed before tile installation.

LAYOUT
Large-format tile and feature materials were positioned around the architecture, fixtures and intended visual lines.

INSTALLATION
Tile, trim, niches, transitions and details were installed with attention to alignment and continuity.

FINISHING
Grout, sealant, fixtures and surrounding finish work completed the installation.

FINISHED SPACE
The final room reflects what drove the process from the beginning: proportion, continuity and a cohesive finished result.
